Nigerian students have been reassured by Senator Simon Bako Lalong, a member of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund and a senator representing the Plateau South Senatorial District, that the National Assembly will enact pertinent laws to safeguard their interests and improve the standard of education.
While on a visitation trip to the national assembly, Senator Lalong was engaged in discussion by members of the National Association of Computing Students, University of Jos.
In a statement issued by Dr. Makut Simon Macham Special Adviser (Media) to Senator Simon Bako Lalong, stated that the Senate is working on projects such as the Student Loan Bill that would help the President carry out his Renewed Hope Agenda for the education sector.
Lalong added that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled a number of initiatives targeted at enhancing student welfare and education in Nigeria.
Lalong gave the students advice on how to use information and communication technology for self-improvement, entrepreneurship, empowerment, and innovation. She also encouraged the kids to keep making their academics a priority.
He said he will soon make public his efforts to assist students from his constituency, including those enrolled in Shendam Plateau State’s Federal Polytechnic Nyak.
The National Association of Computing Students University of Jos Tola Mapis President stated that the organisation was honoured to attend the national assembly and speak with Senator Lalong, a prominent senator and former governor of Plateau State.
The students stated he still serves as an inspiration to the next generation and thanked him for giving them a platform.
