In continuation of his over 20-year philanthropic tradition, Chief Moses Nwan,f.hcd, mni, PhD, Executive Private Secretary to Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and National President of College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), has visited Church women groups across his electoral ward in celebration of the COCIN Women Fellowship (CWF) Week.

The tour took Dr. Nwan to three Local Church Councils (LCCs) of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) — LCC Kodol, LCC Lamor and LCC Nten, all under RCC Pushit, Mangu Local Government Area.

The visits attracted a large turnout of party stalwarts and elders within and outside Pushit who accompanied him.

During the tour, he distributed wrappers and financial support to members of the CWF in the three churches visited.

Beneficiaries described Chief Nwan as a man with a large heart whose impact has been consistent and timely over the past two decades. According to them, his philanthropy extends beyond women empowerment to seasonal distribution of fertilizers to poor and vulnerable farmers, financial support for youths, payment of WAEC fees and award of scholarships from secondary school to higher institutions, among others.

Speaking at the events, Chief Nwan said his intervention was driven by conviction and a deep sense of indebtedness to his people and the Church, not politics.

“A man must have vision, purpose and mission. My mission has always been to pay back to my people and the Church for building me up,” he said.

Chief Nwan expressed profound gratitude to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the support and opportunity given to him to contribute to society in his own small way.

As 2027 approaches, he enjoined the Church to remain united in purpose and prayers for God’s guidance, especially ahead of the general elections.

“Women are therefore not mere spectators but critical partners in building a better Plateau,” he added.

He noted that Church women have remained steadfast in praying for peace in Plateau State and for the success of Governor Mutfwang’s administration, adding that it was only proper to give back and strengthen their faith.

Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Mangu LGA, Hon. Monday Poten, described Chief Nwan as a blessing to the administration because of his philanthropic nature and commitment to the growth of his people and Plateau State at large. He encouraged youths to emulate a leader of such great impact.

Similarly, Chairman of Plateau Progressive Movement, Barr. News Tongchi, described Chief Nwan as a man of integrity with a heart for giving and improving lives.

“Chief Nwan is a role model to the society. His empowerment cuts across everyone irrespective of tribe or religion. Today, we have come to identify with a leader per excellence,” he said.

One of the women leaders, Mrs. Grace Pan, said:

“Chief Moses Nwan is indeed a man of honour and humility. He has shown us love. This kind gesture will go a long way and remain indelible to us. We will continue to pray for him and for the government of Plateau State.”

Other notable dignitaries present included Hon. Longji Kabang Dayes, Liaison Officer to Governor Mutfwang, who commended Chief Nwan as a leader and mentor; Hon. Silas Obed, Councillor, Pushit Ward and Leader, Mangu Legislative Arm, who described Chief Nwan as a pillar; Mr. Moris Dawat, APC Chairman, Pushit Ward; the PDP Chairman, Pushit Ward; Madam Tisa, who spoke on behalf of the ward women; and the PYC Chairman and EXCO, Pushit Chapter, Felix Dingtong and Rueben Bigwan. They all commended Chief Nwan as a leader and great personality who has touched many lives.

The events concluded with special prayers for sustained peace in Plateau State, the success of the Mutfwang administration and a peaceful 2027 general election.
