Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has announced the appointment of new Deans, Directors, and Heads of Units in a major administrative reshuffle aimed at improving efficiency and institutional growth.
The appointments were approved by the Vice Chancellor as part of efforts to strengthen academic excellence, research output, and administrative performance across the university.
According to an internal memo issued by the Registrar, Yakubu F. Ayuba, the restructuring is designed to reposition key sectors of the university for better service delivery.
Among the key appointments, Professor Theresa Gyang has been named Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies. Dr. Rahila Dantong was appointed Dean of Student Affairs.
Professor Buba Wufem will serve as Director of Academic Planning, a position responsible for guiding the university’s academic direction and development.
Also appointed is Associate Professor Priscilla Marcus as Director of General Studies, while Dr. Patience M. Kolade will serve as Deputy Director of the same unit.
The university also announced new leadership in several strategic areas, including health services, research and development, internal audit, entrepreneurship development, and TETFund projects and training.
The memo stated that all appointments take effect from March 30, 2026, and will run for an initial period of two years.
It also directed all affected officers to complete their handover processes on or before April 2, 2026.
The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to outgoing office holders for their contributions to the growth and stability of the institution.
The university said the restructuring is part of ongoing reforms to strengthen governance and improve operational standards across all departments.
Stakeholders are expected to watch closely as the new leadership team begins work to drive academic and administrative transformation at PLASU.
