The Eyewei (V) of Azzuzuama in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, HRH Dr. Selky Kile Torughedi, has extended warm greetings to Nigerian Muslims on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Mawlid celebration.
In a statement on Friday, September 5, 2025, the monarch called on Muslims to emulate the life and legacies of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), especially his teachings of peace, compassion, and humility.
Dr. Torughedi stressed that now more than ever, Nigerians must practice the peaceful dispositions of Islam to overcome the present social and economic challenges facing the nation.
He urged Muslims to imbibe empathy, kindness, and the spirit of sharing, noting that these values will help in supporting the less privileged who are struggling under the current economic realities.
The monarch also appealed to government at all levels to take urgent steps to cushion the effects of ongoing economic reforms, which he said have deepened the hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
He further commended traditional rulers across the country for their sacrifices and commitment in promoting peace and security in their respective communities despite the many challenges they face.
Dr. Torughedi concluded by wishing Nigerian Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Mawlid celebration.
