Mr. David Daser, the immediate past Director General DG of Plateau state Information communication technology development agency PICTDA has been named as a member of the Nigerian Data Protection ( NDD ACT) drafting committee.
This was contained in a statement signed by Dr Vincent O Olatunji ,the National Commissioner of the Nigerian Data Protection Commission and
made available to newsmen in Jos.
The letter reads that the appointment was in recognition of Daser’s invaluable contribution to the advancement of data privacy and protection in Nigeria.
The inauguration of the committee is slated for Monday 4th of September 2023 .
It could be recalled that President Bola Tinubu had recently signed the Nigeria Data Protection Bill, 2023, into law.
The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 provides a legal framework for protecting personal information and the practice of data protection in Nigeria.
