The Chairman of the Plateau Progressive Movement (PPM), The Time Is Now, Barrister News Tongchi, has called on Nigerians to uphold unity, peace and development as the country celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Tongchi, in a goodwill message issued on behalf of stakeholders and members of the forum, felicitated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and Plateau State APC Chairman, Rufus Bature, on the occasion.

He said Nigeria had recorded significant progress in the 66 years since independence, despite the challenges confronting the country, particularly insecurity and other national difficulties.

According to him, with unity of purpose and collective commitment, Nigeria will overcome its present challenges and emerge stronger.

“After 66 years of independence, our country has made significant progress even as we continue to confront challenges. With unity of purpose, Nigeria will overcome its present difficulties and emerge stronger,” he said.

The PPM chairman also commended the developmental strides of President Tinubu and the leadership and infrastructural development recorded under Governor Mutfwang in Plateau State.

He urged Nigerians to use the anniversary to reflect on the country’s journey while upholding the ideals of unity, peace and development.

“As we celebrate this auspicious day of our independence, let us reflect on the nation’s journey and uphold the ideals of unity, peace and development,” Tongchi said.

He called on citizens to contribute to building a brighter and more prosperous Nigeria, stressing that all hands must be on deck to move the country forward.

Tongchi wished Nigerians a happy Independence Day and expressed hope for the continued progress of Nigeria, Plateau State and the Plateau Progressive Movement.
