Hon. Dr. (Mrs.) Kachollom Pyam Gang, The Commissioner for Education, Plateau State also Aspirant for the Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, has received royal blessings from the Ataa Aten of Ganawuri and the Council of Chiefs as part of her ongoing consultations ahead of the 2026 elections.

The visit, which took place at the Ataa Aten Palace in Ganawuri, formed part of her strategic stakeholder engagements across the constituency.

Addressing the traditional council, Dr. Gang formally informed the council of her intention to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives under the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, emphasizing her desire to provide purposeful leadership.

“My ambition is driven by a strong desire to serve our people and ensure that our constituency benefits fully from the dividends of democracy,” she said.

Dr. Gang further revealed that her campaign is anchored on the slogan “Time for Restitution,” aimed at addressing gaps in representation and development since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance.

“This movement is about restitution, ensuring that what rightfully belongs to our people in terms of development and representation is delivered,” she added.

Highlighting her track record, The Commissioner assured the council of her commitment to transparency and fairness in leadership.

“I have served in both public and political offices without any record of mismanagement or biased representation, and I remain committed to equitable service,” she affirmed.

In their response, members of the Council of Chiefs commended her contributions to the community and acknowledged her role in facilitating opportunities for youths, particularly those benefiting from the state scholarship programme.

The traditional rulers also praised her courage to contest in a male-dominated race, describing her as a capable leader, while the Ataa Aten offered prayers and urged her to remain principled and steadfast in her political journey.
