Former Minister of State for Transport, Mohammed I. Musa Azi, has been showered with tributes as he celebrates his birthday, with his son, Engr. Musa Mohammed I. Musa Azi, leading the goodwill message on behalf of the family.
According to the statement made by his Son, Engr. Musa Mohammed I. Musa Azi described his father as a distinguished statesman whose life has been defined by integrity, visionary leadership and selfless service to Nigeria.
Engr. MI. Musa Azi stressed that the occasion was more than the celebration of another year, noting that it was an opportunity to honour a lifetime dedicated to Almighty Allah, family, community and national service.
“Today is not merely the commemoration of another birthday; it is a celebration of an extraordinary life defined by integrity, visionary leadership, patriotism, humility, and an unwavering commitment to national development.”
The tribute highlighted Mohammed I. Musa Azi’s career as an accomplished engineer, respected administrator and former Minister of State for Transport during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to the statement, the former minister made significant contributions to national development, strengthened public institutions and promoted unity through dedicated public service.
Engr. Musa Mohammed I. Musa Azi also commended his father’s active involvement in political mobilisation and community development, describing him as a passionate advocate of peace, unity and nation-building.
Beyond public office, he described the elder statesman as a loving father, grandfather, mentor and role model whose wisdom, discipline and compassion have continued to inspire many young Nigerians.

He added that his father’s exemplary character, calm disposition and unwavering commitment to peace and justice have earned him admiration across Plateau State and beyond.
Engr. Musa Mohammed I. Musa Azi prayed that Almighty Allah would grant his father many more years of sound health, renewed strength, wisdom and fulfilment.
He also appreciates him for his immeasurable sacrifices, exemplary leadership, and invaluable contributions to our family, Plateau State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
