Four suspected bandits have been killed and 17 others were arrested over various kinds of criminal acts under the authority of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), which is tasked with keeping the peace in the Plateau and parts of the states of Bauchi and Kaduna.

The operation’s media officer, Capt. James Oya, revealed this in a statement on Tuesday in Jos.

According to Mr. Oya, among other charges, the suspected individuals were detained in connection with kidnapping, murder, violent attacks on communities, and the sale of illegal drugs.

He clarified that between October 29 and November 5, its forces carried out a unique operation that resulted in the arrests of the accused.

”We rescued four kidnapped victims, prevented six attempts to attack vulnerable communities and responded to 13 distress calls within the period under review,” he said.

Mr Oya said that its commander, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, thanked the residents of Plateau, Bauchi and Kaduna states for supporting the military and other security agencies in their bid to promote security within its areas of operation.
