Troops from the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have successfully apprehended two notorious kidnappers and terrorists in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State during a sting operation, following intelligence reports.

The operation, called Operation Golden Peace, took place on February 24 at around 2:20 p.m. in Lugere Sho, Barkin Ladi, after security forces acted on credible information obtained from a suspect they had arrested two days earlier, on February 22.

Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama disclosed this on his official X account (formerly Twitter). He explained that the security team also arrested another high-profile kidnapper and terrorist at Kwok Village, Barkin Ladi. The arrested suspect has confessed to being involved in several kidnappings across Plateau and Nasarawa States and is currently providing valuable information regarding his past criminal activities.

Makama further shared that one of the captured suspects admitted to being wounded by gunfire in a previous clash with security forces. The suspects also identified their accomplices and revealed their locations, leading security forces to intensify efforts to capture the remaining members of the gang.

The military has reaffirmed its dedication to restoring peace in Plateau State by eliminating criminal organizations responsible for kidnappings and terrorist acts in the area.

Residents have been encouraged to stay alert and report any unusual activity to the appropriate authorities.
