It was on & poppin, as Hip-hop lovers thronged Pop Haus Lekki, the venue of the monthly throwdown for all things hip-hop, Str8up Hip-hop.

Themed the Drip Lawd edition, in celebration of hip-hop fashion, the event witnessed attendees in their flyest gear, rocking the night away. The event kicked-off with a round-table discussion centred on the Evolution of Fashion in Hip-hop and pop culture, featuring hostess with the most, Nancy Chukwudebe, alongside fashion entrepreneur Luto Nack, and A-list stylist, Glory Uduma.

There were also rap, spoken word, and beatboxing performances, alongside B-boy and rap battles and the Dejay Wilz holding it down on the wheels of steel.

Str8up Hip-hop paid homage to Afrobeats legend, Lanre Fasasi AKA Sound Sultan on his birthday, with the presentation of the Str8up Hip-Hop Honours Plaque, by the African representative of the Worldcup of Hip-hop, Elajoe, and received on behalf of the Fasasi family by Now Muzik CEO, Efe Omorogbe.

The beloved icon who passed on in 2021 would have been 47.

The high point of the night was performances from J-town representers, Efe Money and Iceprince Zamani, both of whom tore up the place with their respective performances.
Anchored by OAP, Raezy Winston, some famous faces at the event included Ill Bliss, Elajoe,  GYC, DJ Phumla, DJ Roland, Soma, Efe Omorogbe and Don T.
