Former Speaker of the 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abok Nuhu Ayuba, has thrown his weight behind the initiative of the Plateau State Governor to establish State Police.

He described the proposal as both timely and strategic, noting that it aligns with the urgent need to confront the unique security challenges facing Plateau communities.

According to Abok, the establishment of State Police is a clear demonstration of the Governor’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

He stressed that the move would help restore peace and order, while also boosting grassroots security mechanisms to better protect rural areas.

The former Speaker appealed to all stakeholders, including political leaders, community heads, and citizens, to rally behind the Governor in making the initiative a success.

He explained that security at the local level demands tailored approaches, which State Police will be well-positioned to provide effectively.

Abok emphasized that the creation of State Police will not only enhance security but also foster progress by creating a more stable environment for growth and development.

He described the Governor’s decision as a bold step that addresses one of the most pressing concerns of the people of Plateau State.

Highlighting the importance of unity, Abok urged residents to support the government’s efforts in ensuring the plan comes to fruition.

“Together, we can build a safer state,” he declared, assuring that the introduction of State Police will mark a turning point in the fight against insecurity in Plateau.
