Celebrations are in order as Nengak En-gee Gokir, a talented singer and graduate of Plateau State University, Bokkos, emerges as the winner of the PEPSA–SURWASH Social Media Content Challenge.

The contest, launched to spotlight Plateau’s most creative and impactful voice in sanitation advocacy, attracted several remarkable entries, but En-gee’s content rose above the rest.

Out of 11 standout submissions that met all criteria, En-gee’s video impressed both the PEPSA team and a panel of creative experts with its originality and powerful message.

His entry, shared via Facebook, focused on toilet use, hygiene, and the fight to end open defecation across Plateau State. It combined entertainment and education in a way that struck a chord with viewers.

The journey to this announcement began with a phone call from PEPSA Director General, Mr. Samuel Nathaniel Dapiya, followed by a warm visit to the office and now the official recognition.

En-gee’s video stood out for its ability to connect directly with key audiences—youth, landlords, families, and community or religious leaders.

The judges highlighted how he skillfully used humor and heartfelt storytelling to spotlight real sanitation challenges and promote PEPSA’s ongoing efforts.

More than just awareness, the video moved people emotionally—encouraging them to reflect, laugh, and act in support of improved hygiene.

As a result of his outstanding work, En-gee will now serve as the face of PEPSA’s “Use a Toilet” Behavioral Change Campaign across television, radio, and digital platforms.

He has also been formally engaged as an official PEPSA–SURWASH Influencer, positioning him for future collaborations and greater visibility.

This marks a major creative win for Plateau’s sanitation movement, with En-gee bringing fresh energy and storytelling to the campaign.

PEPSA is calling on the public to celebrate En-gee and recognize the vital role that artists and content creators play in driving social change.
