Following the tragic incident that occurred at Saint Academy Secondary School Busa Buji Jos, Sen. Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang, The Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has called for an immediate investigation into the cause of the unfortunate School Building collapse on Friday, July 12, 2024, which claimed 22 lives and injured hundreds.

Senator Dachungyang made the call while speaking to journalists during his visit at Saint Academy School on Sunday, July 14, 2024, for site assessment.

During the assessment, Senator Dachungyang called for strict adherence to building law, describing the incident as an unprecedented disaster. He intends to propose a motion on the tragedy and may seek legislation from the National Assembly to ensure proper planning and construction before building educational institutions.

Furthermore, Sen. Dachungyang visited the various hospitals where some of the survivors were still receiving treatment to greet and encourage them.

Dachungyang commended the efforts of Plateau State Government, security agencies, emergency workers, and members of the public for their quick response during the tragedy.

Senator Dachungyang prayed for God’s comfort and support for the relatives of the deceased, encouraging them to have hope in the aftermath of such a calamity. He also encouraged the National Assembly to consider the cost of the measure.
