Hon. Rondong Washtang Wash Pam, Chief of Staff to Senator Prince Mwadkwon Dachungyang, has highlighted the achievements of the Plateau North Senator, stressing that his boss has been quietly working to secure jobs and promote peace in the troubled region.
Wash Pam, who hails from Barkin Ladi, said his position has given him a deeper understanding of the challenges of managing such a diverse senatorial zone. He explained that Plateau North, with more than 54 ethnic groups, requires patience, wisdom, and careful handling.
Speaking on the Senator’s political journey, he said it was never an easy beginning, especially coming into office from a minority party. “It was not an easy thing for him, coming on board as a totally new person, a stranger into the game… but of course, with the support of people around him, we’re trying to see how we can manage the situation,” he stated.
The Chief of Staff revealed that despite being new to national politics, Senator Mwadkwon is making steady progress in lawmaking. “By and large, we can see improvements, and we can see what he has been doing. The bills he’s putting up together in the office, I see that he wants to really come out with bills that touch the lives and the core of his constituents,” he noted.
Wash Pam said that beyond legislation, the Senator has recorded practical achievements that directly benefit his people. “Last year, we were able, by the grace of God, to secure 11 slots for registered nurses within the zone. And I want to break my chest to say that, from 1999, I don’t know who has done that,” he declared.
On security challenges facing the zone, he stressed that Senator Mwadkwon has been active in peacebuilding efforts. “Even though he doesn’t believe in wide publicity, he does it quietly, silently behind the scenes, having one-on-one contact with people involved,” Wash Pam explained.
He added that the Senator has engaged NEMA and other relief organizations to step in and provide support to victims of violent attacks. According to him, the Senator’s royal background as a prince makes him naturally inclined toward promoting peace and reconciliation.
Wash Pam also addressed criticisms that Senator Mwadkwon has not performed, insisting that his achievements speak for themselves. He said that more empowerment programs are being planned and will soon be unveiled to the people of Plateau North.
He urged constituents to be patient and constructive in their feedback, emphasizing that leadership styles differ and that meaningful representation takes time.
On whether Senator Mwadkwon will contest again in 2027, Wash Pam said it was too early for such discussions. He noted that the focus for now is delivering good representation to the people of Plateau North rather than political ambitions.
All this your write up na to defend your Boss. The constituents are not enjoying his administration.
