The Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Council, Hon. Silas Dung, has earned accolades from the Senate Committee on State and Local Government Administration for what has been described as “remarkable strides in grassroots development.”
Leading the inspection tour across the local government area, Committee Chairman Engr. Kayode Adebanjo expressed admiration for Hon. Dung’s commitment to continuity and his ability to complete key infrastructure projects initiated by his predecessor.
The committee visited several impactful projects including the newly remodeled Da Patrick Mandung Corper’s Lodge in Kuru, the community hall in Chugwi, the Gura Danbwan Bridge connecting Tanchol and Nyango, the Skill Acquisition Centre in Lyo-Gyel, and the serene Local Government Chapel—all testaments to the council’s dedication to community welfare.
He noted that the tour was part of the committee’s nationwide assessment to spotlight top-performing council chairmen ahead of the upcoming Nigeria Local Government Awards.
In his response, Hon. Dung expressed gratitude to the Senate Committee for the recognition and pledged to sustain the momentum of inclusive development. He credited Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for providing a peaceful and supportive environment that has made progress possible.
