The Senate’s main focus was on matters pertaining to the status of the Nigerian economy at the moment.
Following his attendance at the Wednesday plenary session in the Red Chambers, wherein a number of matters of national interest were deliberated, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, who represents the Plateau South Senatorial District, took part in the Senate Committee of Finance and FIRS/NNPC meeting regarding the current status of the tax credit infrastructure funding scheme.
Senator Lalong, a member of the Committee on Finance, joined his colleagues in raising concerns about the extent of funding releases and project implementation nationwide.
However, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, Special Adviser on Media further revealed that Senator Lalong is specifically advocating for the plan to be used to acquire and carry out federal road improvements in Plateau State.
Senator Lalong has been appointed to the Constitution Review Committee in the interim.
