Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong, the senator for Plateau South, exhorted the Muslim Ummah Wednesday to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), saying that they include compassion, love, unity, and peace.
He said having performed the Ramadan fast successfully, there should not be any barrier against carrying out the teachings of the Holy Prophet which encourage peace, love, unity and compassion.
The Senator says there is every need for Nigerians to use religion and spiritual exercises such as the Ramadan to come together and work for the general good of the nation.
While congratulating them for marking this year’s event successfully, he advocated for more engagements that will further provide avenues for Inter-Religious dialogue, understanding and collaboration so as to defeat the antics of people who use religion to devide Nigerians.
Senator Lalong also urged Nigerians to use religious and spiritual practices, like fasting, to come together and fight for the country’s overall welfare in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Makut Macham.
