Xabi Alonso has been chosen to serve as Real Madrid’s new manager.
Prior to the 2024–2025 season, the former Spain player will succeed Ancelotti, according to Radio MARCA.
After taking over Bayer Leverkusen in October of last year, Alonso has managed the first team for less than a year.
He had previously spent three years in charge of Real Sociedad’s B squad.
Alonso, 41, is Real’s top contender to succeed Ancelotti since it is believed that the club’s administration is unconcerned by his lack of managing experience.
Alonso played for six seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he won the Champions League in 2014 and LaLiga in 2012 during Ancelotti’s first tenure as manager.
