Rail tracks in Jos and its surroundings are currently undergoing reopening and repair processes

Following the revival of Railway transport in Jos, the state capital of Plateau state, Rail tracks in Jos and its surroundings are currently undergoing maintenance in other to restart operations in the state.

The Plateau state executive governor, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, in his efforts to provide an alternative to road transport due to the removal of fuel subsidy that leads to the high cost of road transportation to residents moves to reviving the state’s abandoned railway service.

It could be recalled that Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has move into partnership with the Nigerian Railway cooperation (NRC) for transport services within the rural and urban areas of the state to assist residents with low-cost of transportation.

However, The railway tracks that have sustained significant damage and vandalized over the years are presently receiving prompt maintenance, while other railway tracks that were coated in mud have been reopened to ensure smooth operation.

It should also be noted that the trains have been placed on standby in preparation for operations to begin.
