Residents of Pushit Ward in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State witnessed a major wave of grassroots development and humanitarian support on Sunday, May 17, 2026, as the Councilor representing the ward and Leader of the Legislative Arm of Mangu LGC, Silas Obed Nnok, commissioned several community projects and distributed relief materials to vulnerable residents.
The event, held in Pushit Ward, attracted community leaders, stakeholders, and residents who gathered to celebrate what many described as a new phase of transformation and renewed hope for the area.
The Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Council, Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, attended the commissioning ceremony and officially unveiled the completed projects alongside the councilor.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Nnok said his leadership remained focused on delivering meaningful democratic dividends to the people through practical community-based interventions.
“Our legislative focus and execution strategy remain firmly rooted in delivering real democratic dividends — restoring collective hope, modernizing rural infrastructure, improving everyday security, and building tangible lifelines for our most vulnerable demographics,” he stated.
Among the projects commissioned were two functional rural boreholes strategically constructed in Bindyes and Kodol communities to address persistent water scarcity challenges affecting residents.
The councilor also completed the construction of three box culverts located at Ntul, Makor, and the Prof. Sonni Gwanle Tyoden Bypass, aimed at improving movement and protecting critical access routes from seasonal flooding.
In the area of security and public safety, 11 streetlights were installed across the Pushit metropolis to improve nighttime visibility and enhance security around commercial and residential areas.
Additional security support materials distributed included 20 high-powered flashlights and 20 tactical raincoats to strengthen the operations of local night watch personnel within the ward.
Moved by the scale and quality of the projects executed, Hon. Mwolpun announced an immediate commitment by the local government council to construct an access road linking Bindyes community, a move expected to boost transportation and economic activities in the area.
The event also featured humanitarian and agricultural relief distribution targeted at displaced persons, widows, and other vulnerable groups within the community as part of efforts to cushion economic hardship and support local livelihoods.
Community members praised the initiatives, describing them as impactful interventions capable of improving living conditions, strengthening local security, and promoting sustainable rural development across Pushit Ward and surrounding communities.
