Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Communication has stated that the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State is poised to overcome the challenges facing all the agencies under the Ministry.
In a report by Rotmwa Kassam, Information officer in the ministry notes that: “The Commissioner who was on a familiarization visit to the agencies said the government was committed to instituting reforms that would engender the sustainable growth and development of the Ministry and the State at large.”
“There is a need for synergy between the public and private sectors to change the negative narrative about the state into a positive one”, Ashoms said.
The Commissioner also asked the agencies for support and cooperation to make government’s goals possible to achieve.
Hon. Ashoms said development challenges facing the agencies can not be addressed without looking at the problems, adding that the desire of the government was to bring about a significant change on the Plateau.
Speaking further, he stated that a government directive would soon be issued to all MDAs to start patronizing the Government Printer, calling attention to the need to understand why these institutions were established.
While appreciating the efforts of all agencies despite dwindling fortunes, Ashoms said that the government of Barr. Mutfwang would strive hard to create a conducive atmosphere for a good working environment for staff.
He therefore charged the staff to devise new ways of doing things in order to rewrite the Plateau State story.
On their part, heads of the various agencies expressed appreciation for the visit and show of concern towards the plight of the organizations, expressing the hope for immediate intervention from government.
Speaking separately, the organizations’ heads lamented funding difficulties, bad operational facilities, old buildings, equipments, furniture, machine, others.
