The Commissioner of Police for Plateau State, CP Okoro Julius Alawari, embarked on a significant courtesy visit to the office of Major General AE Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Division Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH). The purpose of the visit was to foster stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the military in their shared commitment to ensuring a peaceful and crime-free Plateau State.

In his recent role assumption, Commissioner Okoro highlighted the importance of building relationships with other security agencies, emphasizing the need for reinforced synergy to effectively combat crime and maintain stability in the state. He expressed his belief that such cooperation would enhance intelligence sharing among the various security agencies.

Commending Major General AE Abubakar’s leadership and his commendable efforts in reestablishing law and order in areas facing turmoil, CP Okoro urged the GOC/Commander OPSH to sustain and fortify the security framework established, thus ensuring the continuity of the hard-earned peace.

In response, Major General AE Abubakar underscored the vital role played by inter-agency synergy, especially in countering criminal activities in the volatile regions of the state. He emphasized that the mandates of the Chief of Defence Staff Gen CG Musa and the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TA Lagbaja underscored the imperative of collaboration and intelligence exchange in safeguarding Nigeria. “The need for all security agencies to work in harmony and confront criminality with a unified approach cannot be overstated,” Major General Abubakar affirmed.

Commending the contributions of the police contingent in Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Abubakar stressed the significance of grassroots stakeholder engagement and advocacy to quell violence and reinstate stability. He assured the Police Commissioner of his commitment to strengthening the existing collaboration between the military and the police on the Plateau.

In a separate development, Major General Abubakar also hosted the Bache Cultural Development Association from Bassa Plateau State. He lauded the group for its hospitality and respectful approach to constituted authority. He urged the association to actively promote peaceful coexistence among its members and to encourage youths to pursue constructive pursuits free from societal vices.

During the event, Mr. Jacob Agal, the National President of the Bache Development Association, commended Major General Abubakar’s leadership style for his swift responses to the concerns of the people, particularly in regions grappling with security challenges.

The visit included symbolic moments such as the signing of the visitor’s book, the exchange of plaques, and the capturing of the occasion through group photographs.
