The Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (PS-DMCMA) has inaugurated three sub-committees to improve access to quality drugs and affordable healthcare.

The sub-committees include Procurement, Pricing, and Monitoring & Evaluation, which will enhance the agency’s efficiency.

Director-General of PS-DMCMA, Pharm. Kim Jerry Bot, announced the inauguration during an event at the agency’s conference hall.

He stated that the sub-committees will work with the Sustainable Integrated Health Commodities Supply System Committee (SIHCSSC).

Their role is to ensure that all medical commodities are well-documented, including supplies, inputs, and invoices.

Pharm. Kim tasked the committees with supervising price attachments using the mark-up element to maintain fair drug pricing.

The sub-committees will also oversee the proper sale of drugs to ensure accessibility and prevent overpricing.

Effective management of drug dispensing facilities across the state is another key responsibility assigned to them.

They will conduct stock assessments and monitor drug consumption in healthcare centers.

Pharm. Kim urged the committees to remain diligent in their duties and uphold accountability in their operations.

He emphasized the importance of identifying and rewarding the best-managed health facilities in the state.

The inauguration marks a major step toward strengthening healthcare delivery in Plateau State.
