The World Bank has given the Plateau state government 2 million treated mosquito nets as part of the presidential malaria initiative in an effort to prevent the spread of malaria in Nigeria.
While supervising the distribution of the nets to the 17 LGA in the state, Cletus Shurkut, the state commissioner for health, stated that the goal of the effort was to lower the high prevalence of malaria in the region.
The goal of the activity, according to Ndak Kizito, coordinator of the Malaria Initiative within the Ministry of Health, was to guarantee that every household in the state benefited from the initiative.
Ifeanyi Chukwu, a representative of the Global Health Supply Chain, stated that prior to the launch, health staff had received technological support through training, which guaranteed high-quality distributions.
