Eight individuals have been apprehended by the Plateau State Police Command in connection with the recent killings in the Mangu local government area.
The Commissioner of Police, CP sokoto Julius Alawari, has pledged to collaborate with other security agencies to combat criminal activity and advised wrongdoers to leave the state.
He commended the officers who have been dutifully serving and warned against corruption and unprofessional conduct.
CP Alawari noted that prevalent crimes in the state include kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, and farmers/herders clashes. He revealed plans to open more police stations and increase security presence in certain areas.
The CP called on the citizens to provide credible information to aid the police in tackling crime and encouraged reporting of any unethical behavior by police officers.
He also emphasized the need for cooperation among all security agencies to protect lives and property in the state.
Regarding the recent arrests, CP Alawari disclosed that two suspects were initially apprehended, and their investigation led to the arrest of six additional suspects. One of the suspects has already made a confession.
