She noted the importance of maintaining peace and lawfulness, regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds, reflecting the true spirit of Jos and Plateau State.
The PPBA lauded the proactive measures taken by the Plateau State Government, which engaged with youth groups ahead of the protests. The agency also acknowledged the significant efforts of religious, community, and youth leaders, traditional authorities, security agencies, and Civil Society Organizations in educating the public on the need for peace.
Security forces have been commended for their swift response to potential threats, ensuring the safety of both protesters and the general public. The PPBA also recognized the media’s role in promoting non-incendiary reporting, which supports the peace and unity of Plateau State and Nigeria.
However, the agency advised against minors participating in the protests to help maintain the current peaceful atmosphere.
