As the race for Plateau North Senatorial District in 2027 gathers momentum, public opinion continues to reflect strong grassroots support for Honourable Dachung Musa Bagos, a former Member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in the 9th Assembly.
Community voices describe Bagos as a leader deeply connected to the people, with many considering his candidacy for the Senate as a natural step in his political journey.
In Bassa Local Government Area, discussions around the 2027 senatorial contest highlighted the admiration many still hold for Bagos. Benjamin Dajele, who shared his personal experience, said Bagos’ name came up even during casual conversations while he was carrying out solar installation work.
According to him, “I went to work in Bassa and jokingly I told some group of people who were observing how I do solar installation, the guys were discussing 2027 senate and one just ask me a rhetorical question, I then responded that I am from Riyom and we have interest in Riyom🙄🥲.”
He noted that the overwhelming respect people expressed for Bagos reflected a movement that goes beyond ordinary politics. Dajele further explained that while on duty, those around him ensured his safety, a gesture he linked to Bagos’ widespread acceptance.
“Work wey na vigilante ends up protecting me till I finish,” he added, emphasizing the depth of community trust that surrounds the former lawmaker’s name.
Observers say the “Bagos Movement” is increasingly being recognized as more than a campaign, it represents a people driven force with potential to shape Plateau North’s political future.
