The Plateau State Ministry of Justice has paid a strategic visit to Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and support the development of legal education in the institution.
The visit focused on building partnerships that will enhance the growth of the Faculty of Law, which was established in recent years and continues to expand with strong government backing.

The delegation was led by the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Philemon Audu Daffi, alongside the entire management team and chief state counsel of the ministry. During the visit, Daffi said the engagement was aimed at strengthening partnership with the university, with special attention on accelerating the growth of the Faculty of Law.
He disclosed that the ministry is mobilising support for the faculty and has begun processes to harness the expertise of retired legal practitioners, including former Attorneys-General and Solicitors-General, who still have valuable contributions to offer society.

The Vice-Chancellor of PLASU, Professor Shedrack Gaya Best, appreciated the ministry for the timely visit and assured the university’s full support for initiatives aimed at revitalising the faculty. He stressed the institution’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards.
“We have strived to maintain the highest standards without compromise in admissions,” Professor Best said, adding that the university hopes to produce the nation’s and region’s finest legal luminaries.
He noted that visits by distinguished legal practitioners, including many Senior Advocates of Nigeria, have inspired and motivated students of the Faculty of Law. The Vice-Chancellor also commended Executive Governor Barr. Manasseh Caleb Mutfwang for his sustained support for the university and its law programme.
The visit ended with the Attorney-General inspecting the Faculty of Law facilities to assess infrastructure and needs firsthand, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing legal education at PLASU.
