Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, has promised to collaborate closely with Kemi Nandap, the newly appointed Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), to guarantee effective border security and prevent criminal activity within the state.
During a courtesy call at the new Comptroller-General’s office in Abuja, Governor Mutfwang said this. He complimented her on her appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of “Renewed Hope.”
In a statement issued by Mr Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, he stated that Plateau State, as the Home of Peace and Tourism, welcomes visitors, especially foreigners who come to invest in the state with the aim of growing the economy and improving people’s living standards. He did, however, urge the Immigration Service to intensify its efforts to identify those who come to cause harm to innocent citizens.
Governor Mutfwang said his administration has taken a bold step to address the problem of drug abuse and said the Immigration Service would play a vital role to stem the tide of drugs in Plateau State.
He urged the Service to work with key government departments to generate accurate, reliable, and credible data that meets global standards, thereby facilitating the planning and successful implementation of government projects.
The Governor stated that his administration will offer the incoming Comptroller-General, Kemi Nandap, with all of the necessary support to provide good services, and he recommended her to be fair to all, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or regional heritage, in order to build unity in diversity.
Governor Mutfwang congratulated Kemi Nandap and wished her a prosperous tenure on behalf of the Plateau State administration and the people who value peace.
The Comptroller-General, Kemi Nandap, expressed her appreciation for the visit, saying she felt humbled and honoured. She stated that Plateau State’s good weather has historically attracted a large number of foreigners to the state, and she emphasised her willingness to work on the state’s security to regain its lost glory.
Mrs. Nandap committed to work with other Plateau security organisations to offer timely and trustworthy intelligence to help flush out criminal elements in the state. She also stated that new ideas would be used to improve the nation’s security through effective border security management.
