The Plateau State Government has announced a further relaxation of the curfew in Jos North Local Government Area following improved security conditions after recent violence in the area.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the government said the adjustment takes effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Under the new directive, residents are now permitted to move freely between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., while the curfew will remain in force from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has directed security agencies to strictly enforce the curfew during restricted hours to safeguard lives and property and sustain the return of calm in the area.

The government urged residents to comply fully with the directive, remain indoors during curfew hours, and cooperate with security operatives by providing useful information to support ongoing peace efforts.
