The people of Plateau State gathered in a colourful and spirit-filled Thanksgiving Service at the Polo Field in Jos on May 29, 2025, to mark the two-year anniversary of the “Time is Now” administration, led by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and his Deputy, Her Excellency Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo. The event drew traditional leaders, political figures, religious leaders, and citizens from across the state in a remarkable show of unity.

Welcoming the crowd, Deputy Governor Piyo reflected on the administration’s journey with gratitude and pride. “This occasion is not just a celebration, but a moment for deep reflection and appreciation,” she said. “From May 29, 2023, to this day, the unwavering faith and prayers of Plateau citizens have sustained and propelled us.”
Her Excellency highlighted major achievements including payment of backlog salaries, improvement in transport services, and ongoing infrastructure development. She called on citizens to remain supportive: “Like Oliver Twist, we ask for more. Continue to stand with us, pray for us, and partner with us as we work to build a better, stronger, and more prosperous Plateau State.”

In his address, Governor Mutfwang gave all glory to God and expressed deep appreciation to the people. “This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Today marks exactly two years since you bestowed upon me the privilege and honour to serve you,” he declared.
He fondly recalled how citizens kept vigils at INEC offices, cooked for legal teams, and offered prayers during the court cases. “Giants stood in our way, but the Lord gave us victory,” he said emotionally, reaffirming his commitment to progress and unity.
The Governor described the administration’s achievements as only the beginning of what lies ahead. “We are in the days of small beginnings. Many victories are yet to be won, but I am confident we will overcome,” he said, encouraging citizens to walk in unity and purpose.
In a powerful sermon titled “Product of God’s Grace,” Rev. Nwosu C. Thompson likened the Governor’s leadership to that of King Solomon. He declared, “An end has come to bloodshed and land annexation. This is the dawn of a peaceful and prosperous Plateau.”

Representing the Plateau State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, likened the Governor to Joseph in the Bible. “We want to lift you before God this morning with your coat of many colours, and pray God that you will succeed like Joseph did,” he said, expressing royal endorsement for the government’s efforts.
He continued, “Today you are the Executive Governor of Plateau State. Tomorrow we pray that you continue on this. Every step of the journey is in the hands of God Almighty.”
Former Governor Bitrus Atukum and other dignitaries including COCIN President Rev. Amos Mozo and CAN Chairman (represented by Rev. D. Yunnana) sent goodwill messages, commending the administration’s focus on inclusive leadership and tangible development. They expressed hope that even greater achievements await Plateau State.
The event, filled with musical ministrations and heartfelt prayers, was described as a symbol of renewed commitment to the ideals of faith, service, and collective progress. It served as both a celebration and a rededication to the Plateau vision of unity and transformation.

Giving the vote of thanks, Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Jatau, expressed gratitude to all present. “Above all, we give glory to God Almighty for His faithfulness, guidance, and the victories we have recorded in the past two years,” he said. “May this Thanksgiving renew in us a deeper commitment to love, peace, unity, and progress in Plateau State.”
