The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State Chapter, has elected Rev. Dr. Dunka Gomwalk as its new Chairman.

The election and inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Usiju World Event Center in Jos.

The event was attended by church leaders, clergy, and Christian faithful from various denominations who gathered to witness the formal transition of leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Rev. Dr. Gomwalk expressed gratitude to the association for the trust placed in him and pledged to promote unity and peaceful coexistence among Christians across the state.

He assured members of his commitment to strengthening the voice of the church in social and moral matters while working closely with government and faith-based organizations to enhance peace and development in Plateau State.

The newly inaugurated executives include Rev. Dr. K. Saleh as Vice Chairman, Pastor Simon Julius Arabo as Secretary, Rev. Fr. Timothy Dabot as Assistant Secretary, and SP (AP) Williams Oresanya as Treasurer.

The new leadership will serve a five-year term, focusing on interdenominational cooperation, spiritual growth, and advocacy for Christian interests in the state.

With Rev. Dr. Gomwalk at the helm, Plateau CAN is expected to experience renewed energy and collaboration in advancing the Christian faith and fostering unity among its members.
