The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) has introduced a new tariff system aimed at improving access and service delivery across the State’s healthcare sector.
The development was announced at a meeting between PLASCHEMA and the Plateau State Chapter of the Desk Officers Forum of Nigeria, held on August 29, 2025. The engagement provided a platform for stakeholders to review progress and discuss reforms needed to strengthen the system.

During the meeting, the Acting Director General of PLASCHEMA, Dr. Kwande Solomon Dawal, unveiled the revised tariffs, which will take effect from October 1, 2025. He said capitation fees will rise from ₦570 to ₦650 per enrollee per month, Fee-for-Service (FFS) will increase from ₦330 to ₦400, while administrative fees will move from ₦40 to ₦45.
Explaining the rationale, Dr. Dawal stated, “We have listened carefully to the concerns of stakeholders and are implementing these changes to improve healthcare delivery. Our goal is to ensure that quality and affordable healthcare is accessible to all Plateau residents.”
He added that the reforms were a reflection of the Agency’s adaptive spirit and strong partnership with government, stressing, “This achievement is not ours alone but a product of the unwavering support of the Plateau State Government and the 17 Local Government Chairmen. Together, we will continue to strengthen the system for the benefit of our people.”

On his part, the Acting Chairman of the Desk Officers Forum, Lazarus Simon Rawen, presented the Forum’s concerns, which centered on the need for updated tariffs, increased capitation fees, and improved payment processes. He commended PLASCHEMA for its timely response.
The tariff review is expected to improve healthcare financing, reduce payment delays, and boost confidence among service providers. Stakeholders believe the adjustments will encourage efficiency and better coordination across the system.
The meeting also reinforced PLASCHEMA’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and openness to feedback, which many described as key to sustaining progress in the healthcare sector.
Observers at the event noted that the Agency’s proactive approach signals a shift toward more responsive healthcare management in Plateau State.
With the reforms now in place, PLASCHEMA is positioning itself to deliver on its mandate of expanding access to affordable and quality healthcare for all residents of Plateau State.
