At least four people lost their life and over thirty cows perished in a sad accident involving an overspeeding cattle trailer at the Gada Biu flyover bridge in the Jos North Local Government Area. At the Bingham University Teaching Hospital, three more people are presently undergoing treatment for injuries they incurred in the collision.
The collision happened at 2:31 in the morning when the caravan driver, who was presumably new to the road and came into late-night traffic, accelerated quickly. The driver eventually lost control of the vehicle after failing to notice a bend in the road while driving. The accident’s catastrophic results highlight the risks associated with irresponsible driving, especially in the late hours of the night.
It’s important to note that the accident site has a history of numerous types of collisions, underscoring the urgent need for improved safety precautions and heightened awareness on the part of drivers. It is anticipated that the authorities would carry out an exhaustive inquiry into the accident’s circumstances, with an emphasis on averting such catastrophes in the future.
