In a major breakthrough in the fight against arms trafficking, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN have arrested three notorious gunrunners in Golgokfa Village, Godogodo Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, which was based on actionable intelligence, was carried out on May 8. During the raid, the troops apprehended 65-year-old Adamu Musa, 35-year-old Lukman Isah, and 25-year-old Umar Jammo.
Recovered from the suspects were one AK-47 rifle, a fabricated firearm, one AK-47 magazine, a single round of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and three motorcycles believed to be used in criminal operations.
According to a statement by Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of Operation SAFE HAVEN, the suspects are currently in custody and have begun providing valuable intelligence to aid further investigations and operations.
“Operation SAFE HAVEN remains committed to leveraging public support and intelligence to dismantle criminal networks and enhance security across the region,” the statement added.
The latest operation highlights ongoing efforts by security forces to curb the proliferation of illegal arms and restore peace in Kaduna and surrounding states.
