In a recent declaration that highlights his influence on the Nigerian music industry, renowned rapper M.I Abaga proclaimed himself as the most successful Nigerian artist of all time. Sharing his journey, M.I detailed his rise to stardom, starting from his humble beginnings in Jos before making his mark in Lagos.

M.I Abaga emphasized the pivotal role he played in establishing Chocolate City, one of Nigeria’s leading music labels. “I came into Lagos from Jos having nobody. And I built a record label on my back,” he stated, recounting the challenges he overcame to build a successful platform that has shaped the careers of many stars.

Among the notable names M.I mentored are Ice Prince, whom he supported from the ground up. “I took Ice Prince from scratch and watched him grow. I was there when he bought his first home,” M.I recounted. He also highlighted his role in nurturing other artists like Dice Ailes, Brymo, Blaqbonez, and the globally celebrated Ckay.
