The Jos Metropolitan Development Board (JMDB) has raised alarm over the discovery of fake officials claiming to be part of the “Task Force Team” enforcing the Plateau State Government’s Order 003. This order mandates the removal of illegal shops and structures within the Jos/Bukuru metropolis.

In an official statement aired on both electronic and print media, the General Manager of JMDB, Architect Hart Bankat, alerted the public to the fraudulent activities of individuals falsely posing as staff members of the Board or officials of the Task Force. According to the statement, these impersonators have been extorting money from unsuspecting citizens under the guise of enforcing the government’s directive.

The JMDB condemned the actions of these fraudulent individuals, stating that their aim is to tarnish the image and integrity of both the Board and the genuine Task Force officials. The Board urged the public to avoid engaging with anyone claiming to represent JMDB or the Task Force Team without proper verification.

The management emphasized that JMDB has not authorized any individual or group to collect payments on its behalf. Both those giving and receiving such illegal payments will be treated as criminals. The public is reminded that all official payments should only be made through the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service’s designated portal.

For any doubts or clarifications, the public is encouraged to visit the JMDB office at No. 21 Ibrahim Dasuki Street, Jos.

JMDB reaffirmed its commitment to upholding its values and ensuring the physical development of the greater Jos area in line with the city’s master plan.
