Hon. Dr. Ishaya David Lalu, Ph.D, Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, has empowered his constituents with various livelihood support items to boost economic activities across the area. The empowerment programme was held at the NUT Hall in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The event attracted key stakeholders, traditional rulers, party stewards, and beneficiaries, who gathered to witness the distribution of items including tractors, cars, tricycles, motorcycles, electric bicycles, grinding machines, farm inputs, sewing machines, water pumps, and cash support of N50,000,000 (Fifty Million Naira).

Speaking during the Phase 1 empowerment programme, Hon. Lalu described the occasion as a remarkable moment in the history of his constituency. He said the initiative was designed to positively impact lives and improve the economic conditions of the people.

He expressed joy over the opportunity to give back to his constituents, noting that humility and dedication were key to attracting support that would benefit the community. He explained that the empowerment reflected collective effort and divine grace.

Hon. Lalu reaffirmed his passion for the people, assuring them of his commitment to lifting them out of poverty. He also revealed that a baseline survey guided the distribution to ensure sustainability, adding that items were given to beneficiaries with relevant skills to promote productivity, reduce insecurity, and restore peace.

Declaring the empowerment programme open, Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, commended Hon. Lalu for giving back meaningfully to the people who elected him. He described the initiative as a true legacy project that equips beneficiaries with sustainable means of income.

The governor praised Lalu as one of the most hardworking members of the National Assembly, noting that he has effectively used his position to attract opportunities and interventions for Plateau State. He urged beneficiaries to be grateful and make proper use of the items, stressing that the empowerment should not be abused.

Also speaking, APC Stewart, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs, commended Hon. Dr. Ishaya David Lalu for his impactful representation of the federal constituency. He praised the lawmaker for attracting empowerment items for distribution and expressed pride in the positive developments brought to the people, noting that such initiatives will improve the lives of constituents.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Hon. Lalu for the programme. Mrs. Celina Augustine Datit, Women Leader from the constituency who received a grinding machine, said they are grateful for his efforts and urged others to emulate his generosity.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Babawo Suleiman Wang, who received a bag of fertilizer, commended Lalu for providing support to improve farming activities in the community.

On behalf of the traditional council, HRH Da Job Ali Damyal, District Head of Mangun in Mangu LGA, described the initiative as significant for reducing poverty and promoting relative peace by empowering grassroots communities.

Speaking on behalf of the Mangu/Bokkos LGA Chairmen, Deputy Chairman Hon. Nuhu Yakwen commended Lalu as a role model and expressed confidence that future phases of the programme will continue to benefit the people.

Hon. Abdul Yanga, Chief whip at the Plateau State House of Assembly from Mangu LGA also lauded Hon. Lalu for his dedication and hard work in uplifting the constituency, highlighting his focus and commitment to the welfare of the community.
