Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has issued a strong directive to individuals and groups illegally holding government properties, demanding the immediate return of such assets.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang reiterated his administration’s commitment to reclaiming public assets. He warned that those involved in the illegal sale or acquisition of government properties would face serious repercussions.

“We are resolute in recovering all government assets under illegal possession or occupation, both within and outside the state. A task force will soon be set up to investigate and recover properties sold without due process,” the Governor stated.

Mutfwang also called for the voluntary return of illegally obtained properties, emphasizing that the government would pursue offenders and hold them accountable. He added that justice would eventually catch up with those involved in unauthorized sales.

Addressing the issue of fraudulent Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), the Governor assured that such cases would not go unpunished. He announced a grace period for offenders to voluntarily surrender illegal documents, warning that failure to comply would lead to recovery efforts at the offenders’ expense.
