Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has relieved five commissioners of their duties in a major cabinet reshuffle. The affected commissioners include Chrysanthus Dawam, Commissioner for Budget (Quan Pan), Noel Nkup, Commissioner for Youth and Sports (Shendam), Jamila Tukur, Commissioner for Tourism (Quan Pan), Obed Goselle, Commissioner for Science and Technology (Langtang South), and Sure Musa, the Commissioner for Commerce (Bassa).
In their place, the governor has appointed new commissioners to ensure a smooth continuation of governance. Joy Ramnap, the former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, will take over one of the vacant positions. Other new appointees include Dr. Sunday Alex from Bassa, Slyvanus Dongtoe from Shendam, Dr. Nicolas Bamnong from Quan Pan, and Cornelius Doeyok from Quan Pan.
It could be recalled that Governor Mutfwang previously suspended some officials, including Chrysanthus Dawam and Jamila Tukur, both of whom were key figures in the state’s economic and cultural development strategies. Their suspension at the time was seen as a significant move, considering the importance of their departments to the overall governance of Plateau State.
This recent reshuffle is part of Governor Mutfwang’s strategy to strengthen his administration and bring in fresh perspectives. The governor expressed confidence that the new appointees will deliver on their respective mandates and contribute to the overall development of the state.
