Cheques worth N278,649,455.60 have been distributed to Project-Affected Persons (PAPs) by Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang as part of the state’s efforts to rebuild and advance Plateau State’s economic development. The Plateau Club and the Bingham University Gully Erosion site are among the projects impacted.

Governor Mutfwang presented out cheques to 179 identified beneficiaries during a ceremony at Jos Crispan Suites and Event Centre, advising them to invest the monies with caution. He stressed the significance of appropriate land management for human survival and warned against practices that could aggravate erosion and harm the ecosystem.

Governor Mutfwang called upon citizens to support government initiatives aimed at rapid development. The Governor lamented the mismanagement of funds for inherited projects and pledged his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

He reiterated his determination to transform Jos into a model city, and called for cooperation from citizens in the urban planning efforts.

In the same vein, Hon. Peter Kanang Gwom, Commissioner of Environment, Climate Change, and Mineral Development, recently revealed the eligibility requirements for a major compensation project in Plateau State. The effort, intended at Project-Affected Persons (PAPs), comprises various kinds of properties, including structures, lands, economic trees, businesses, and residences.

According to Gwom, the compensation plan is part of a bigger plan to strike a balance between economic resiliency, environmental preservation, and development. The initiative aims to promote long-term growth and prosperity in Plateau State by offering cash compensation to individuals affected.
