Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, has expressed his deep satisfaction at the tribunal’s decision validating his victory in the March 2023 elections.

The Governor expressed his sincere gratitude to the Almighty God and the entire Plateau State populace for their steadfast support and faith in his leadership in a message of appreciation.

He credited divine intervention and the Plateau people, who have supported him unwaveringly since the start of his political career, for the tribunal’s favourable judgement.

“I am filled with elation and attribute all glory to God,” he said in his own words. I want to sincerely thank the Almighty for making this accomplishment possible. I also want to express my gratitude to the Plateau State residents for their continuous support.

I applaud the tribunal’s honourable members for acting in accordance with their moral convictions and the law. God is to be praised.

“Our people have been praying for many weeks, and especially in the last few days, I know that kept vigils, and today God has brought us to this place of victory, and I want to thank God Almighty for that,” he continued.

“I want to also thank God for the judges that sat in this tribunal for giving them the heart, to be honest, to be dedicated to do justice in accordance with the dictates of their conscience.

“I have always been confident that despite the criticism of the judiciary, I have always believed that there are men and women of integrity that sit on the bench and at the right time when they are called upon, they will do that which is right”.

The Governor gave the people of Plateau State the reassurance that they could put their trust in him with confidence, and that by God’s grace, he would live up to their hopes and expectations. He emphasised the commitment of his administration to keeping the pledges made during the election.

Governor Mutfwang also praised the tribunal for keeping the values of justice and fairness, highlighting how crucial it is to respect each political party’s autonomy in conducting its own internal affairs as a cornerstone of a healthy democracy.

Additionally, Governor Mutfwang vowed that his administration will take a more aggressive approach to accelerating the rollout of initiatives created to deliver on promises made to the Plateau State populace before the election.

He emphasised that now that the elections were done, it was time to concentrate on providing effective governance to the people.

Reiterating his everlasting commitment to the Plateau people, he urged everyone to join the joint endeavour to advance Plateau State, regardless of their racial, religious, or political affiliations.

In addition, Governor Mutfwang urged the petitioners, whom he regarded as friends, to work with him to create a wealthy and united Plateau.
