In a move to expand access to tertiary education, the Malikiya Na Maje Educational Support (MNM) has unveiled a free JAMB (UTME) registration programme for 50 qualified secondary school students in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The initiative is being sponsored by Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Badu, popularly known as Dan Malikin Wase, who serves as Special Assistant to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD.
Under the programme, the full cost of JAMB registration will be borne by the sponsor, with secondary school principals across Wase LGA tasked with identifying and nominating eligible SS3 students through an organised selection process.
According to the organisers, beneficiaries must demonstrate strong academic performance with a minimum average score of 60 per cent, possess a valid National Identification Number, and meet all age and eligibility conditions stipulated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
The Organising Committee explained that priority will be given to students from financially disadvantaged homes, while nominees must also be certified by their principals as disciplined and of good character.
Schools have been directed to submit their nominations to the committee on or before February 2, 2026, after which all entries will be screened and verified to ensure fairness and transparency.
The MNM described the initiative as part of its broader educational intervention efforts aimed at reducing barriers to higher education and promoting academic excellence among youths in Wase Local Government Area.
