David Shikfu Parradang, former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has tragically passed away.

Initial reports by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama indicated that Parradang was kidnapped in Abuja’s Area 1 in the early hours of Tuesday. According to Makama, after being followed from a bank where he withdrew money, the assailants robbed him of the cash and eventually killed him.

Makama, who frequently reports on security matters, highlighted the growing concerns over the rising cases of kidnappings and targeted violence in the Federal Capital Territory.

Parradang, who had a distinguished 30-year career with the NIS, held numerous high-ranking positions across Nigeria, including in Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the FCT. His contributions earned him the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) title, and he was a proud alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

In response to the incident, security agencies have begun investigating the circumstances around Parradang’s death, aiming to capture those responsible for the crime.

However, just hours after the abduction claims surfaced, the police clarified that Parradang’s death occurred in a hotel, contradicting earlier kidnapping allegations. The investigation continues.
