The Aliko Dangote Foundation has donated 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to support vulnerable communities in the 17 Local Government Area of Plateau State. The distribution is part of the foundation’s nationwide effort to cushion the effects of economic hardship on Nigerians.

Welcoming the donation, the Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA), Sunday Abdu, expressed deep appreciation to Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his extraordinary kindness and to Governor Mutfwang for creating an enabling environment that attracts such support. He assured that the rice will go directly to the “least members” of Plateau communities, emphasizing fairness and transparency.

Abdu also highlighted the Governor’s proactive leadership under the “Time Is Now” vision, noting it has inspired impactful partnerships like this. He reaffirmed PLASEMA’s commitment to ensuring that every bag reaches the intended beneficiaries, offering hope and relief to thousands across the state.

The Area Manager of the Dangote Foundation, Bashir Adamu Kawu, officially handed over 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to the Plateau State Government as part of the Foundation’s support to the vulnerable population. He described the donation as a gesture of goodwill from Alhaji Aliko Dangote to help cushion the effects of hardship in the state.

While presenting the items, Kawu stated that the donation was directed to the Executive Governor of Plateau State on behalf of Dangote Group, acknowledging the state’s ongoing challenges and reaffirming the company’s commitment to supporting communities in need.

While receiving the 20,000 bags of rice from the Dangote Foundation, Governor Caleb Mutfwang applauded the gesture, describing it as a commendable act of compassion. He noted that wealth should be used to uplift others and thanked Alhaji Aliko Dangote for remembering the poor in Plateau State, especially through his bold economic investments.

“This is worthy of commendation, worthy of emulation. He has demonstrated that no matter how rich you are, if you do not remember the poor, then you will not get value for your riches,” the Governor stated, as he expressed appreciation on behalf of the most vulnerable in the state.

Governor Mutfwang also called on other well-meaning individuals to support government efforts. He revealed plans to make fertilizer more affordable this farming season to boost food production, particularly in Southern Plateau, while assuring that under his leadership, “privileged people will not hijack what belongs to the poor.”
