The Crest Centre for Peace and Social Advancement (CCPSA), in conjunction with LEAP Africa, Youth Day of Service, and DOW, commemorated International Day of the Girl Child on October 11, 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness and equip girls with technology skills for personal growth and achievement.

Participants engaged in discussions on reproductive health, menstrual hygiene management, and the current socio-economic challenges faced by many girls, including the inability to afford disposable sanitary pads. To address this issue, we provided training on how to create reusable sanitary pads, ensuring participants had hands-on practice. Additionally, we distributed disposable pads to those in need.

The girls expressed their enthusiasm, asked insightful questions for clarity, and shared their gratitude for the knowledge and resources provided.

This initiative underscored the belief that all girls deserve to live free from stigma and to be empowered for a brighter future.
