The management of Command Secondary School Jos, Plateau State has assured Parents of its commitment to ensuring that the desire of parents toward the growth and development of their children would be pursued without compromise.
Commandant of the Institution of learning, Lieutenant Colonel Afekunle Udoyemi gave the assurance to the parents and other Guests during the 41st Annual Inter-house Sports Competition of the School which held on Saturday 9th March, 2024 at the School Premises. He appreciated parents for entrusting the education and well-being of their children to the School.
The Military Officer hinted that the event marks a significant milestone in the history of the School, a tradition he said has united them in the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence for over four decades.
He said “As we are here today, we celebrate not only athletics, but also perseverance, teamwork, discipline and resilience, qualities that extend far beyond the playing field and into the fabric of our lives”
He lauded the students for exhibiting unwavering dedication, rigorous training and a commitment to push boundaries of their capabilities. He further appreciated them for exemplifying the spirit of healthy competition, mutual respect and the pursuit of excellence.
He commended the Teachers, Coaches and Staff whose efforts he said have nurtured the talents and dreams of the Students.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Maryam Mohammed the Director/Chief Executive of the National Veterinary Research Institute Vom represented by Dr. Saty Ngulukun in his remarks lauded the management of Command Secondary School Jos for the colourful event and disclosed that sport has broken stereotype and serve as a universal language. He commended the students for demonstrating hard work, dedication and resilience. He said the event has created an atmosphere of unity.
While declaring the Competition open, the Special Guest of Honour, Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army Jos and Commander Operation Safe Haven who was represented by the Commander 3 Division Garrison, Brigadier General MK Sanda lauded the display of discipline throughout the competition and the management for making the event a huge success.
He appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja for always supporting programmes and activities of the Nigerian Army.
In the overall Competition Dragon House came top with 225 points, Tiger House emerge first runner-up with 212 points and Stallion House having pulled 186 points emerge the second runner-up in the Competition.
Guest of Honour, Major General BA Tsoho the Corps Commander Education who urged the Students to pursue excellence at all times later officiated the presentation of gifts, presentation of trophies/medals to deserving houses and schools.
Highlights of the event were March Pass by competing Houses, combat demonstration by the Students who thrilled those in attendance and invited Schools Relay races.
