The Boys’ Brigade of The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Shaka, Jos, Plateau State, held its enrollment service to welcome new members into the Brigade. The special church service brought together church leaders, parents, and members of the Boys’ Brigade.
The event also featured the promotion of members who have shown good character, discipline, and dedication to the Brigade, marking another step in their growth and service to God and the church.

Retired Reverend Chrysanthus Bala, of COCIN LCC Shaka, RCC Giring, and PCC Jos, encouraged members of the Boys’ Brigade during the enrollment service. He charged the boys and officers to remain committed to discipline, obedience, and service to God.
He explained that the enrollment service is important because it equips officers and assigns responsibilities for the continuous work of the Boys’ Brigade. According to him, the process helps strengthen leadership and ensures the Brigade continues to grow and function effectively.

Captain of the Boys’ Brigade, Capt. Bature Ponzing Shepherd, said the enrollment service was an opportunity to thank God for seeing the Brigade through the year. He noted that the occasion also allowed the Brigade to promote boys who performed well into higher ranks.
He added that the service also makes room for the introduction of new patrons to support the growth of the Boys’ Brigade. According to him, the enrollment service is held every year as part of the church’s annual calendar.

The reviewing officer, Mr. Elisha David Chikan, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Customs, encouraged members of the Boys’ Brigade during the parade. He described the Boys’ Brigade as an important arm of the church with a strong role in shaping young people.
He said the enrollment service supports the mission of the Boys’ Brigade by promoting youth empowerment within COCIN and other churches across the country. According to him, the Brigade has a big role to play in building disciplined and responsible youths for the church and society.

During the enrollment service, Mr. Pam Musa, Vice Chairman of the Plateau State Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), was invested as a patron of the Boys’ Brigade, 11th Giring Company, COCIN LCC Shaka, RCC Giring. He thanked God for the opportunity and described the investiture as a privilege to serve and support the Boys’ Brigade.
He said the enrollment is a call to responsibility, urging patrons to guide the boys in the way of the Lord. According to him, being a patron involves supporting the boys spiritually, morally, and financially, while helping them grow as disciplined youths and soldiers of God.

In his vote of thanks, the patron appreciated members of the Boys’ Brigade, church leaders, and guests for their support and presence at the enrollment service. He expressed happiness over the commitment shown to the activities of the Boys’ Brigade and encouraged everyone to continue supporting the organisation for its growth and success.
