In a bold step towards enhancing agricultural productivity and supporting grassroots development, the Executive Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Area, Hon. Amalau Samuel Amalau, has distributed 6,000 bags of fertilizer to all wards and strategic groups across the local government.

The event, held on June 26, 2025, saw various groups benefit from the fertilizer initiative, including the Plateau Youth Council (PYC), Bokkos Chapter, which was represented by its Vice Chairman, Comrade Lekkes Raphael Dimas.

Speaking on behalf of all beneficiaries, Comrade Dimas expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Amalau for the inclusive gesture. “We are deeply grateful to the Executive Chairman for not only recognizing the importance of agriculture in our community but also for ensuring that youth are not left behind in such impactful initiatives,” he said.

He praised the local government’s leadership for acknowledging the role of young people in governance and community development. According to him, “This initiative reflects a leadership that sees young people as partners in progress. It is rare to find leaders who deliberately factor youth into developmental plans.”

The PYC Vice Chairman also highlighted the significance of the fertilizer distribution in supporting young farmers. “Many of our members are engaged in agriculture, and this support will go a long way in boosting their productivity this farming season,” he added.

Comrade Dimas called on other political leaders to emulate Hon. Amalau’s approach, stating, “We urge other leaders across the state to take a cue from the Bokkos Chairman by investing in young people and the agricultural sector.”

He concluded by pledging the youth council’s continued support for the administration’s policies and programs, assuring the Chairman of their readiness to contribute to peace and development in the area.

Hon. Amalau Amalau’s gesture has since received widespread commendation from community leaders, farmers, and youth groups who believe the intervention came at a crucial time in the farming calendar.
